NOBU、zumaに続き、またまたオシャレなジャパニーズレストラン "OKKU" が、The Monarch Dubai Hotel内にグランドオープンしました！今回の取材、エグゼクティブ寿司シェフのShoさんこと、イワタヒサシさんにお話を聞いてきました。

店内に入ってまず目を引くのが、大きなクラゲだけの水槽です。このネオンで照らされたクラゲ、すべて日本から輸入したそうです。ちょっとだけ？品川の水族館を連想させます。店内はラウンジ・バー、ダイニング、個室と、3レベルにわかれていて、それぞれの雰囲気もだいぶ違います。

お料理は創作系で、スタンダードメニューから、ひと味変わった一品までバリエーションに富んでいます。もちろんお酒の種類も豊富です。ランチタイムもオープンしていて、ランチコースはお手頃価格です。週末はBuddha Barのように深夜からクラブっぽくなり、DJブースもあるので、またひと味違った雰囲気を楽しむことができます。

OKKU's - CONCEPT

Introducing a new style of authentic yet contemporary Japanese cuisine to the Middle East dining scene, Okku serves up unique Japanese delicacies created by celebrity Super Chefs who have cooked for the likes of Madonna, George Clooney, Bill Clinton, Hillary Swank and Denzel Washington to name but a few. Combined they bring over 134 years of experience to the Sushi Bar and kitchen.

All of the chefs bring something different and unique to the table. They are like a family who all believe in the importance of excellence and quality. The other thing they share in common is the concept of putting “love” into their food. They, as do all of the Okku Team, firmly believe that the customer can tell when there has been love put into the cooking. It is reflected in the final outcome.

The restaurant and lounge, which combine cutting-edge service, style, and design with a see-and-be-seen element, boast an atmosphere that works perfectly for both intimate dining as well as a vibrant late night hotspot.

Together with a tantalising cocktail menu, a breathtaking 8-metre jellyquarium and a resident DJ who hails from Miami and spins until 3am every night, Okku is set to become Dubai’s most desirable and exclusive restaurant and lounge.

Okku is located on the first floor of The Monarch Dubai Hotel, and serves Lunch from 12pm-3pm Sunday to Thursday, Dinner and Drinks from 7pm onwards with the bar and lounge open until 3am, seven days a week. Free Valet Parking available.
